Sharing a Photo Or Two

One of the hobbies I have had for quite some time is photography.  I really enjoy taking landscape pictures.  And of course, photography plays a large part in my documenting my motorbike trips.  I wish I had more time to devote to photography.

My introduction of photography began back in 1979 when I purchased my first Nikon SLR camera.  Since then I have moved to a DSLR, Canon to be exact.  And I love being able to take more control over my pictures now that everything is digital.

Take this picture to the right.  I took it back in the fall of 2014 in my backyard.  I just happened to step out back before heading into the office one morning and the colors of the flaming red maple
tree caught my eye.Fall Colors_Small
I grabbed my camera and fired off one shot.  And this is the result.  A lucky shot I think.  But I also
believe that some of your best shots can sometimes be a spur of the moment shot.  Take the next shot for instance.

February View

This was taken earlier today.  Low 20’s and very windy.  But the sun was shining.  This is shot from Grandview Drive in Peoria, Illinois.  It is actually a panorama of five shots I took really quickly.  I just jumped out of the truck, ran around to the other side of it, and fired of five quick shots.  I preceded to jump back into the truck and headed back off to the office.  I did not even take the time to look an any of the images in the camera.

The sole purpose of the picture was to test a new feature in Adobe Lightroom which makes panorama pictures much easier to create.  I’d say it was a success.  I’m looking forward to playing around with panoramas a bit more.

So stay tuned.  Along with my motorcycle pictures and videos, I’m also a woodworker. I hope to add more pictures here as I move forward.  And of course, I’ve still got all those Alaska motorcycle shots to get uploaded.  Did I mention that I went back up that way in 2015?  Yep.  More pictures to follow!  Stay tuned.
